Gift idea generator
Describe the person the way you'd describe them to a friend. We'll suggest gifts that fit them, not a generic "for her" list.
- 1Write a few lines about who they are and what they love.
- 2Set the occasion and a budget, if you have one.
- 3Save the ideas you like, or ask for more.

What makes a description work
The generator is only as specific as what you give it. The most useful details are the ones a stranger couldn't guess:
- What they do on a free Saturday, not just "likes sport".
- Something they mentioned recently: a trip, a new flat, a broken kettle.
- What they already have too much of, so you don't add to it.
- Their taste in one phrase: minimalist, loud, outdoorsy, cosy.
Why "useful" beats "impressive"
Givers tend to pick gifts that look great at the moment of unwrapping. Recipients, research shows, care more about how the gift fits their life in the weeks after. Our guide to choosing a gift has an interactive chart of that gap and what to do about it.

How does the gift idea generator work?
You describe the person in your own words: age, hobbies, what they talk about, what they already own. Our AI model reads that description and suggests specific ideas, each with a reason it fits and a rough budget band. You can ask for more ideas as many times as you like.
Is GiftInspo free?
Yes. There is no account, no sign-up and no paywall. We don't sell products or earn commissions, so suggestions aren't steered toward any shop.
Do you store what I type?
No. Your description is sent to the AI model to generate ideas and is not saved on our servers. Your draft and saved ideas stay in your own browser, and you can clear them at any time.
What if I don't know much about the person?
Take the gift quiz instead: it asks six quick questions and matches you with ideas from our curated list, no typing needed. Or browse by budget and occasion.
What should I get someone as a gift if I don't know what they like?
Pick something low-risk and pleasant (a good book with a note, a plant, a tea or coffee treat) or choose an experience you share. If you can find out one hobby, browse our interest pages such as gifts for book lovers or coffee lovers.
How do I find a gift based on someone's interests?
Type their interests into the generator, or open an interest page (runners, gardeners, gamers, bakers and more). Each idea is tagged with the interests it suits.
Why don't you show prices or links to shops?
Prices and stock change daily, and we'd rather not guess. Each idea has a typical budget band and a "Search it" button so you can compare current options yourself.
